Capitol Center for the Arts

The Capitol Center for the Arts came to us looking for a fresh new look for their website to showcase the numerous shows at their two venues: the Chubb Theatre and the BNH Stage - both in downtown Concord, NH. Their former Wordpress site was dated and didn’t give them the tools they needed to best manage their busy show schedules. In addition, they wanted a site to highlight their community involvement as well as promote their rental opportunities for private events.

The new site is paired with our CMS to make edits easy. Also, we custom-programmed an interface so their system seamlessly connects with their ticketing software.

We created a fresh new modern design – featuring a large collection of performance images to help create more of the look and feel of the organization to its visitors online. Right from the homepage, you’re quickly made aware of upcoming and featured shows and is quickly followed by a custom-built “show shuffler” - an easy-to-use filtering system – allowing the user to find shows by category (rock, pop, comedy, broadway, etc). Shows are then individually featured with relevant details, information and purchase options.

In addition to performances, CCA wanted us to help them promote their rental opportunities – something that wasn’t heavily promoted previously. The result is a detailed section of the site showcasing all six of the current rental offerings that can be used for private functions, weddings and other events.

Custom CMS (Content Management System) Requirements

The new site for CCA is powered by FIREHORSE CMS - our custom-built content management system that we tailor to the specific needs of each website.

In addition to the standard features of our CMS – giving the client the ability to add/edit/delete pages, we had to integrate the system with their online ticketing system which involved custom tagging and programming of fields –  so both systems could communicate with each other. The client manages the individual shows from their ticketing software and the data is dynamically fed into our framework. The remaining pages of the site can be managed by logging into the CMS via any Internet connection – giving them flexibility for their team to manage the site whether at the CCA venues or elsewhere.
